Industrial Emergency Services, LLC is pleased to announce that Charles A. Waldorff, Jr. has joined the IES senior management team in the newly created position of Vice President Business Development. In his new role, Mr. Waldorff will lead the company’s business development efforts, as well as the development of critical corporate infrastructure needed to support IES domestic and global growth. He will be responsible for IES' sales, marketing, information technology, and corporate communications efforts. Mr. Waldorff will report to IES President & Fire Chief, Robert C. Andrews, Jr. While announcing the appointment of Mr. Waldorff, Chief Andrews stated that, “IES is at a critical point in its growth. We find ourselves in a target-rich business environment, and needing to rapidly enhance our corporate systems and processes in order to seize these opportunities. IES must, along with its affiliate companies within the Bob Andrews Group, strategically manage its growth in both the short and long-term. It is critical that IES unify its business development efforts, and I personally believe that Charlie Waldorff brings a timely, tailor-made skill set to achieve this initiative. Additionally, Charlie will play a key role in facilitating our strategic acquisition process”. When asked what attracted him to IES, Mr. Waldorff replied, “Emergency response is an area of great importance as we deal with both natural and man-created disasters around the world. IES with its innovative approach to crisis management and prevention is poised to make a difference. I am excited to be part of this highly skilled team”. Mr. Waldorff graduated from the University of Florida in 1972 with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with computer science option. From 1987 to 1990, Mr. Waldorff was Vice President of Technology for Telxon, a leading manufacturer of mobile computers, where he was personally responsible for Product Development, R & D, Program Management and Engineering Services, as well as part of the general management team that focused on acquisitions and their strategic integration into the organization. From 1990 to 2002, Mr. Waldorff was Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Coin Acceptors (COINCO), a leading manufacturer of products for the vending and automatic transaction industry. In addition to his responsibilities for management oversight of four product divisions, he implemented a global corporate network, developed a comprehensive supply chain management organization, and was instrumental in the development of new products and the marketing of intellectual property. While at COINCO, Mr. Waldorff was involved with two acquisitions, one of which he helped to oversee as a board member. From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Waldorff has served as an Operating Partner in Glengary, LLC, a venture catalyst enterprise, as well as a principal in the Wellspring Group, which works with companies to provide services in the areas of strategic planning and execution, product development, computer technology, and business operations. While joining IES full-time, Mr. Waldorff will maintain a relationship with both Glengary and the Wellspring Group. Mr. Waldorff is active within the community, contributing significant time to church and youth sports activities. He most recently became a Board Member of the Key Ministry Foundation, which provides assistance to churches ministering to families with children who suffer from serious hidden emotional, behavioral, or developmental disorders.
